We have been in business in the valley as a local family owned farm for nearly 40 years. Our animals are grain-fed and born and raised entirely on our farm. We feed a high quality feed that is ground and mixed right on our farm to ensure that our pigs are getting the proper nutrition for high quality pork.
Flying Pig Farm raises berkshire pigs while Logan has expanded the showpig side of things in the Treasure Valley area.
I raised a few pigs as a youngster as a way to make some money and as an FFA project. I enjoyed it and got a BS in Animal Science in 1983. I then started what became the Flying Pig Farm. I moved to Eagle, ID in 1986 to expand the operation and then moved back to Kuna where I built a new farm in 2003 in the desert south of town.
The farm focused on selling commodity meat hogs and some showpigs until 2008. At that time the Flying Pig Farm purchased 5 berkshire gilts and a boar as the foundation of the Berkshire herd and to begin producing kurobuta pork.
I loved growing up on the pig farm. Checking on the newborns, feeding, showing pigs, even cleaning pens are some of my greatest memories out on the farm with dad!
I now, alongside my wife Melissa, get to share the same things with our children as we work hard together to responsibly raise our pigs! Working with pigs is my passion and what I feel I do best. I am happy to help our customers in any way I can when it comes to pigs. From filling the freezer to making memories in the show ring, I am here to help.
